According to L'Oreal, conditioner should only be used where it's needed, which is from the ends to the mid-lengths. The driest area of your hair is this one. Starting at the ends and working your way up to the mid-lengths, apply conditioner. Don't go any farther because putting conditioner in your roots will make your hair look weighted down and oily.
