15. Deep-Frying Pans

When you first move into a new home, purchasing frying pans may seem like a one-time purchase. Even the more expensive non-stick skillets, though, only last so long. Experts advise replacing pans every three to five years, just to be cautious.

As non-stick cookware ages, its coating may begin to flake and peel off. You still don't want to see this in your scrambled eggs, even though small amounts of it are considered harmless. Purchasing cast iron is preferable, or be sure to change the set every few years.
