If you wait much longer, you're almost washing yourself in mold, and nobody likes that. Painful skin infections may be brought on by dangerous bacteria and spores. Ensure you remove as much moisture as possible from it in between applications. It's not a good idea to keep a loofah on display until it falls apart, but it's also the best way to end up with a nasty staph infection.
