The silicone and plastic mask was made by Donut Robotics, and it uses Bluetooth to link to a smartphone and translate text. It's interesting to note that even though it took $265,000 to get things started, the masks themselves will only cost $50 when they go on sale. In Japan, the C-Face Smart Mask is scheduled for release in December.
This brilliant idea has practically limitless applications, making it well worth the cost. A face mask that actively interprets your speech is not only a great way to spice up your appearance when engaging in diplomatic or tourist activities, but it may also open up many new social opportunities for you.
