7. Avoid organising your wardrobe by colour.

Sort the clothing according to the fabric's density rather than its colour. More water is absorbed by heavy textiles than by lightweight ones. This explains why various items are cleaned out of detergent to varying degrees and why clothes composed of thin fibres become damaged by combined washing. However, keep in mind these two exceptions:White clothing is never cleaned with other colours. Over 85°F is the maximum temperature that should be maintained for clothing to retain colour saturation.
